Thank you to United Welding Institute and SAU Magnolia for the American Welding Society Certification Event. 40 students and teachers had the opportunity to test for AWS. AWS is nationally accredited certification in welding and this event ensures participants with valuable work ready skills. Schools participating today were: Camden Fairview, Emerson, El Dorado, Hampton, Harmony Grove, Junction City, Parkers Chapel, Smackover, SAU, and Taylor.
The 8-day Cognitive Coaching Foundation Seminar Certification provides participants with the tools to foster self-directedness, resourcefulness, and reflective thinking within students, teachers, and administrators.

The UAMS/Department of Family and Preventive Medicine is currently recruiting a Research Associate (RA) to support a collaborative systems-change initiative to increase access to early childhood mental health services in Arkansas. This RA will support a collaborative grant, working with partners including UAMS, Excel by Eight, the Department of Human Services, and more. The RA will assist with information gathering to determine the interest in and feasibility of new provider types offering parent-child mental health services in identified areas and new settings and to inform financial and policy development needs. They will provide implementation support to pilot sites implementing early childhood mental health services and gather feedback and evaluation data to support sustainability.

This year's focus reminds us of the meaningful interactions and JOY that reading with children can foster.
